For our people it is well known the importance of the plant dogwood, which is popular since ancient times. It grows everywhere, mostly dry, sunny and rocky side of the deciduous forests. It blooms in February and March and matures from July to October. The fruits are dark red with a sweet-sour taste.
They contain large amounts of natural sugar, organic acid, pectin, tannin and extremely a lot of vitamin C. In cornels has double ascorbic acid than oranges.
The fruits are eaten fresh, frozen, dried or processed into jam, marmalade, preserves, fruit juice.
Each section is healing: fruit, leaves, bark, flowers, fresh and dried seeds. Effectively treating head, anemia, measles, kidney disease, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, diabetes, a better healing of wounds.
Mixing of fruit and oil seeds can be used for regeneration of the skin and mucous membranes. Juice, jam, tea and products mature cornels assist with diarrhea and other diseases of the digestive organs.
If despite the impaired function of the intestines and diarrhea, and fever appear, it is recommended tea from the bark of dogwood.
